Jan 4 - Swing Dance w/ Seth Kibel Quintet - Glen Echo | It's pretty likely you know of Seth Kibel - he plays with some of the best bands in jazz and swing, and has made a name for himself in the Washington/Baltimore region on saxophone, clarinet, and flute. He is featured with the Sean Lane and Bay Jazz Project, Music Pilgrim Trio, The Natty Beaux, The Alexandria Kleztet, and more. This guy's won 28 Washington Area Music Awards, seven of them for Best Jazz Instrumentalist! To top off an already great sounding evening, the rest of the Quintet are Flo Anito and Matt Kelley on vocals as well as Seth's "A-List" Musical Warriors!

Feb 8 - Swing Dance with Daryl Davis at Glen Echo
Daryl Davis has been a fixture on the DC music scene, and part of the swing dance scene here since it's beginning. He's known as DC's favorite Boogie Woogie man and it'll only take you a few bars to realize why! Not familiar? To quote his musician bio, "Both Pinetop Perkins and Johnnie Johnson, considered to be the greatest Blues & Boogie Woogie and Blues and Rock’n’Roll pianists respectively, both have claimed DARYL as their godson. They have both praised his ability to master with authenticity a style that was popular 20 years before he was born, progressing through the styles of many pioneers including Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino and beyond. It was this ability that landed DARYL in the piano slot for The Legendary Blues Band (which was the Muddy Waters band) and the piano slot for Chuck Berry. Both positions were once held by Perkins and Johnson." Feb 15 - Red Dress Ball with Eric Felten's Jump Seven at Glen Echo | We are thrilled to be bringing back Eric Felten's Jump Seven to Glen Echo on Saturday, February 15th for our annual Red Dress Ball. Proceeds for the evening will go to American Heart Association! Eric Felten's Jump Seven is a 7-piece combo playing the classic Big Band repertoire, so you'll hear you favorites from the likes of Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, and more.. And let us tell you, this band really knows how to swing!! Don't take our word for it -- The Washington Post raves that you should "catch this swinging seven-piece band in all its deserved glory." This is one evening you do NOT want to miss!!! Don your favorite red threads (casual or dressy -- you decide!), grab your dancing shoes, and round up your favorite dance partners for an evening of great music and fine dancing!! Friday Evening, February 28th - Lesson from 7-8pm, Dancing until 11pm

Sunday Afternoon, March 1st - Lesson from 1-2pm, Dancing until 5pm This will be the last Dance of the current ownership. We have scheduled it this way so that all our regular patrons, from all three dances, will be able to share in the festivities. Included will be a lite fare dinner, desserts, beverages, Champagne and a Wine Selection. We will also be showing a slide show, on the big screen, of most of our regular patrons, throughout the years. Also, as part of the celebration, I think it would be a nice addition to include a few Dance Performances, with Couples, Teams or even Singles donating their talents for the event. If anyone is interested, please contact me, so we can coordinate which day will work best for you. I extend my appreciation, in advance. Admission - $20 per dance
