LASCA
LOW
Lasca began her
dancing career in college where she danced and toured with the Brigham Young
University Ballroom Dance Formation Team.
She performed for five years with the team and competed with them in the
World Formation Championships in New York City.
As an amateur, Lasca also competed with her partner in competitions on
the west coast.
Lasca turned
professional in 1980 and competed in numerous professional standard
competitions, winning in the Professional Rising Star category in both the
United States and Canada. These included
the Classique in Montreal, the Boston Cup and the Oregon Star Ball. Lasca has also placed in the finals of the
professional standard at Virginia State Championships and the semi-finals in
most other open championship competitions in which she competed, including the
U.S. Ballroom Championships.
Lasca is a Member of
the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and has taught and judged
international style ballroom dancing for many years. She has instructed in several studios in the
Washington, D.C. area as well as the ballroom dance clubs of Georgetown
University, George Washington University, and the University of Maryland. She has also taught in middle-school systems
as well as in churches and at weddings. Vice President and Mrs. Cheney have been numbered among her
clientele.
